The current research was conducted with the aim of explaining the information-seeking behavior of Allameh Tabataba'i University faculty members based on Belkin Episode Model for use in selective dissemination of information services. In terms of its nature and purpose, it was of an applied type and was done with a survey-analytical method. The studied population consisted of 562 faculty members of Allameh Tabataba'i University, and the research sample consisted of 226 people who were selected by stratified random method. The tool used for data collection was a semi-structured questionnaire. The validity of the questionnaire was confirmed by three subject experts, and the reliability of the questionnaire was estimated to be 0.90 by calculating the Cronbach's alpha coefficient. The collected data were analyzed using SPSS software. The findings of the research showed that the information-seeking behavior of faculty members is at an "average level" and is far from the desired level. As a result, it seems that the design of the databases, the suggested keywords and key phrases of databases, and the capabilities and facilities of the database search system for users for the purpose of conceptual searches should be designed more user-oriented to solve the information needs and improve the information-seeking behavior of faculty members. to help In addition, the faculty members' use of subject thesauruses in order to use specialized terms in order to retrieve information sources that match their information needs can also be a way forward.

The purpose of this study is to provide a model for implementing the linked data method in library systems (such as digital libraries and library catalogues), as well as to provide the components needed to perform this process. In this stage, in order to provide a practical example of converting metadata records based on linked data method, 40 metadata records from the total records of Shahnameh bibliographic family were purposefully selected from the Iran’s national library catalogue, and converted based on linked data method and finally it’s RDF graph was designed. In this study, after analyzing the structure of RDF language and connecting data in the linked data method, the steps of implementing this method in selected metadata records were explained. These steps include assigning URI; representing RDF model of bibliographic entities and relationships; converting examples of metadata records based on linked data method; providing RDF/XML code resulting from the conversion of one of the metadata records based on the linked data method; and finally creating an RDF graph. The links established in the RDF/XML syntax are richer, more accurate, more comprehensive, and more structured than current formats, and the use of linked data method allows for the coverage of a variety of bibliographic relationships between related works. Therefore, it seems that the application of linked data method can have significant effects on the process of describing and displaying relationships and links between bibliographic metadata in library systems.

Research Objective: This research was conducted with the aim of explaining the function of Web search engines in indexing and finding of the metadata records based on the Microdata method comparatively, using an empirical method.
Research Methodology: The research community included 100 metadata records(related to e-books) based on the hypertext markup language (HTML) in the form of a test group with 50 records in Persian and 50 records in English, based on the Microdata method, and one control group with one hundred Persian and English records of the same structure. These records were selected from the metadata records of Allameh Tabataba’i University digital library, using the random sampling method. The examined metadata records were published on an independent website http://www.szolghadr.ir, and were introduced to Google, Bing, and Yahoo! search engines with the best recommended methods. Then using the checklist strategy, the performance of the search engines in indexing and finding the metadata records of both groups was investigated.
Findings: The findings show that Google indexed the records of both control and test groups, and displayed the metadata records of the test group significantly in the search results. However, Bing and Yahoo! search engines only indexed the records of both groups and were not able to make them significantly visible in their search results.
Conclusion: Therefore, despite announcing reliable search engines as structured data designers (schema.org), based on indexing and displaying based on microdata methodology, only Google’s search engine supported the significant displaying (in the form of rich snippets)of metadata records of the two groups.

Purpose: This study evaluates the position of Iranian Universities with an emphasisonAllameh Tabatab’i University (ATU) in four international university ranking systems including Shanghai, QS, Times, and ISC.
Methodology: This is an applied research. The method of comparative research, the method of collecting library information, and the tool for checklist research are based on the indicators of each of the mentioned ranking systems.
Results: Findings show that 80 percent of the total published papers (as a key indicator) with an ATU affiliation appeared in Iranian journals and only 20 percent of the papers appeared in international journals. Despite the improving state of Allameh Tabataba'i University, it is still positioned relatively far from the top international universities in various other ranking indicators.
Conclusion: The results show that until the end of 2016 Allameh Tabatab’i University did not have a great position in three of the international university ranking systems—Shanghai, QS, and Times. However, in 2015 and 2016 the ISC ranked Allameh Tabatab’i University the second in Iranian universities in the field of humanities.

This study will discuss the context-oriented aspects in designing and creating a metadata application profile compatible with the native needs of related information environments and its impact on developing the semantic web in an analytical approach. In the first part of the paper, the concept of the context and how the context will be established, and creating semantic based on the relationship among concepts in a special context emphasizing the semantic Web will be described. Then, the concept of the metadata application profile as the newest approach in creating metadata in information environments, and the context-oriented approach in designing this kind of profile aimed to meeting special native needs. The paper clarifies the position and the role of the metadata application profile in producing semantic in various information contexts as elements making the semantic web, and creating structured data (metadata) for describing and managing of the Web content objects. In the end, the paper will conclude the common approach in developing metadata application profiles and the semantic Web shows the positive impact and efficiency of metadata application profiles in developing the semantic Web.

Purpose: The aim of this research was to find out the status of indexing and ranking MARCXML and DCXML metadata records based on the linking approach by Web search engines. Methodology: 100 XML-based metadata records in two groups (50 DCXML metadata records in the first group and 50 MARCXML metadata records in the second group were analyzed through a comparative-analytical approach. The records were published on an independent website (http://www.aghaabedi.com), and were introduced to Google and Yahoo! search engines directly. Then using search strategies, the indexability and ranking of the published metadata records were examined. Findings: findings show all the metadata element values were indexed by Google and Yahoo!, and all the metadata records were ranked in the search results. Based on the research, all the metadata records are retrievable in Web search engines environment by the element values. There was no significant difference between two groups’ indexing and ranking. Conclusion: Implementing metadata records in XML syntax improves the indexability of them. This feature helps users to retrieve the content objects by Web search engines, but does not affect the ranking of the metadata records and the DCXML and MARCXML records were ranked equally.

Purpose: The purpose of this research is assessing Persian Islamic Knowledge Terminologies by Standard: ISO 25984-1 and adjusting them with instructions propounded to control vocabularies. The areas of the research are: Terminologies of Islamic Theology/ Logic/ Islamic Philosophy/ Jurisptudence′s principles (Osoul fiq)/ Ethics/ Quranic Science/ Tradition Science. Methodology: The methodology of this research is descriptive (measuring), and uses searching as its tool. 450 terms were chosen from each terminology and 3150 terms were totally studied. Findings: The result of the research shows that the most quantity of for the compliance with standards was found seen in philosophical terminology (70%), and after that, Osoul Fiq and Islamic Theology Terminologies (65%). Ethics and Quranic Knowledge Terminologies observed jointly 62.5% and Tradition Sciences and Logic Terminologies observed 55%. Conclusion: Islamic Knowledge Terminologies are weak in obviating ambiguity. 70/2% of the total Terminologies which are observed in Islamic Knowledge Terminologies have been used in the form of noun and noun phrase and 29/5% in the form of compound words. these terminologies entirely conform to grammatical standards and rules. but in recording names we don’t see any accordance with standards
