Assessing the quality of the central library servicesinAllameh Tabataba’i University and identifying the Libqual indicators needed for improvement, are the research objectives.Methodology: The survey research method was applied according to the Libqual model and the data was gathered by questionnaires. The gap between the users’ maximum and minimum expectancies, their receipt rank, and the significance of the difference among these ranks were analyzed. The data was collected from a user community sample of 100 members.Findings: The users’ received service for all the service impact, information control, and library as placefactors was lower than their minimum expectation which showed the dissatisfaction of users. The amount of users’ minimum expectation for the improvement of service impact factor was more than the other two. The lowest amount of service reception and the highest degree of receipt rank dissatisfaction were identified for the library as place indicator. The highest rate of dissatisfaction on maximum expectation rank was for the library as place and the information control indicators, respectively.Originality: Filling the performance assessment gap, harmony with user population, economic justification, user satisfaction, and user orientation are the benefits and values of this research.

The present study was conducted to investigate the understanding of organizational mental image of the faculty members and librarians of Allameh Tabataba’i University of university library services.The aim of this study is applied and the method is analytical survey. Participants of this study were 242 faculty members and 49 librarians of Allameh Tabataba’i University(ATU). The data was collected through the researcher-made questionnaire based on Lee Blang & Nekvin organization mental image model. The validity of the questionnaire was content validity and its reliability of was estimated through using Cronbach’s alpha. The obtained reliability was 0.78. Data was analyzed using descriptive statistics and one sample T test. SPSS software was used to analyzed data. The average image of faculty members was 3.43 and the average of librarians’ mental image was 3.38. The average of faculty members’ mental image in respect to identity, the fame, service quality, physical environment, and staff behavior was 3.60, 3.33, 3.33, 3.59, 3.55 the average among the librarians was 3.38, 3.52, 3.29, 3.26, 3.86 respectively. Findings showed ATU faculty members’ perception of University library mental image is higher than that of librarians.

The main objective of this study was to evaluate the information seeking behavior of academic staff in the use of online resources at Tabataba’i University. The methodology of this study is a descriptive survey and a research application was implemented. The instrument used for data collection questionnaire was developed and distributed among the 472 members of the faculty at Allameh Tabataba’i University. The results show that 80 percent of faculty members through the Internet search and online sources are familiar with the individual studies and their main goal is conducting research into the use of online resources and up to date information. In a variety of magazines, online resources and electronic books more than other types of applications. Eighty eight percent of Allameh Tabataba’i University faculty members use free information resources to meet the needs of their own. The main criteria for the evaluation of the new and updated information are available online resources. According to the results, the biggest difficulties experienced by the fellow members of university staff in using online resources include the constant inaccessibility of information banks owing to the lack of a comprehensive policy in this respect and the very low speed of the Internet.
