The present study aimed to determine the levels of Iranian collaboration and to analyze scientific collaboration network in the area of basic medical sciences, in the Science Citation Index from 1996 to 2013. Scientometric methods and network analysis have been used for the study. The study sample consisted of 1040 articles published in the field of stem cells, molecular medicine and computational biology, subfields of basic medical sciences and science priorities in the comprehensive scientific map, extracted from the Science Citation Index. The results show that Inter-institutional collaboration in the field of basic medical sciences was 23.94%, Intra- institutional collaboration was 52.02%, and the level of international collaboration was 23.08%. The result of macro indicators of collaboration network analysis in this area of the study was as follows: density of networks: 0.018; network clustering coefficient: 0.831; geodesic distance: 3.334; network diameter 9 and network components: 24. The result of micro indicators of Social Network Analysis was as follows: degree centrality: 2.346%; betweenness centrality: 31.69%; closeness centrality: 3.522%; and Eigenvector Centrality: 85.18%. It can be concluded that scientific collaboration network in the basic medical sciences area was not coherent enough and adequate communication and collaboration have not happened.

This study aimed to design and explain the process model of scientific authority in Iran’s higher education. Mixed-Method has been the methodology used in this research in two phases: the first, qualitative using Grounded Theory, and the second, quantitative (descriptive, survey). Research orientation has been basic, descriptive and functional; the research approach has been deductive in the first phase and inductive in the second one. The population, in the first phase, was 15 persons possessing the authority’s conditions in Iran’s scientific past released from purposive sampling method; the population, in the second phase, was the higher education’s professors and experts including all members of the active scientific committees in Ministry Of Science, Research and Technology. These members were 176 persons who were studied through stratified random sampling. In the first phase, the research’s reliability has been observed by the researcher, and in the second one, Cronbach's alpha coefficient was calculated. Qualitative findings including four stages were identified as nascent stage with five dimensions, development stage with six dimensions, interaction stage with four dimensions and evolution stage with five dimensions. Finally, the process and dimension stages were tested by LIZREL software. It was found that the most impact related to education and research area and experiencing scientific environment, and the least related to the political factors.

Purpose: Leadership theory and research has not addressed the role of leaders in knowledge management, despite its importance to organizations. Consequently, information and knowledge management as key leader functions have not been explored. This descriptive study has sought that help to expansion links between leadership and knowledge management through examine the factorial structure of the knowledge leadership questionnaire of Viitala (2004). Methodology: Statistical population included staff at Islamic Azad University Sanandaj branch, Kurdistan University and Payame Noor University of Sanandaj (434 people). According to the ratio of staff per university, a sample of 204 selected by classified random sampling. The data collection tool was knowledge Leadership Questionnaire (Viitala, 2004) that its validity and reliability confirmed. Data analyzed by exploratory factor analysis, one sample t-test and one way ANOVA. Findings: The results showed that the factorial structure of knowledge leadership questionnaire consisting of dimensions orienteering of learning, creating climate that supports learning, supporting individual and group level learning processes, Acting as a role model with some changes in the relationship between the indicators and dimensions. Results also showed that knowledge leadership in the universities studied, was higher than average, and there was no the difference between the universities in terms of the application of knowledge leadership. Conclusion: According to study findings, knowledge leadership questionnaire Viitala (2004) is used in Iran.

Three institutes (i.e., Islamic Research Institute for Culture and Thought (IICT), Institute for Humanities and Cultural Studies (IHCS) and the Research Institute for Humanities and Social Science (IHSS) of Academic Center for Education, Culture and Research (ACECR)) were selected for the survey. A total of 116 researchers were identified affiliated to the above research institutes who published 575 items from 2007 to 2013. Using scientometric techniques, the trends and frequency of the collaborations within each institute, between three institutes and external ties were carefully studied and visualized using Pajek software. With 307 publications, IHCS showed the best performance. In total, 169 collaborations were detected by the institutions with only one international co-authorship and no collaboration with two other humanities research institutes. The co-authorship index was calculated 1.4. It can be concluded that the Iranian research institutes for humanities are not connected well in terms of scientific collaborations.

This study aims to conceptually analyze the Delos reference model and the 5S Framework and to identify key relations between the concepts and indicators of the model and the framework in the organization and evaluation of digital libraries. The research method is conceptual analysis of Delos reference model and 5S Framework in the organization and evaluation of digital libraries. The Delos reference model focuses on the identification of core concepts and relations that encompass a digital library, while the 5S Framework focuses on the concepts of information and knowledge organization. The six areas of Delos reference model include content, user, functionality, quality, policy, and architecture that explain the core concepts and relations of digital libraries in a transparent and structured manner and are used as a foundation for evaluation of digital libraries. However, the 5S Framework mostly focuses on explaining key concepts and information organization in digital libraries such as digital objects, metadata, sets, and services. The organization of the three separate systems (digital library, digital library system, and digital library management system) in the same framework has made the Delos reference model complicated. However, the 5S Framework simply depicts all activities and services of a digital library in five processes. The Delos reference model, compared with the 5S Framework, lacks a strong emphasis on the social aspects of digital libraries. The Delos reference model and the 5s Framework can assist digital library designers in organizing, designing and evaluating digital libraries for coordination of practices, solutions, and development and integration of digital library systems. The Delos model and the 5S Framework have common relationships with digital libraries in the areas such as streams, content, communities, and users.

The main objective of this study was to evaluate the information seeking behavior of academic staff in the use of online resources at Tabataba’i University. The methodology of this study is a descriptive survey and a research application was implemented. The instrument used for data collection questionnaire was developed and distributed among the 472 members of the faculty at Allameh Tabataba’i University. The results show that 80 percent of faculty members through the Internet search and online sources are familiar with the individual studies and their main goal is conducting research into the use of online resources and up to date information. In a variety of magazines, online resources and electronic books more than other types of applications. Eighty eight percent of Allameh Tabataba’i University faculty members use free information resources to meet the needs of their own. The main criteria for the evaluation of the new and updated information are available online resources. According to the results, the biggest difficulties experienced by the fellow members of university staff in using online resources include the constant inaccessibility of information banks owing to the lack of a comprehensive policy in this respect and the very low speed of the Internet.

This research aimed to appraise librarians’ performance in public libraries in mazandaran using 360-degree feedback. To do the research, survey-analysis methodology was applied. The data was collected by pre-prepared questionnaires. The validity and reliability of questionnaires was at a high level, Cronbach's alpha in all questionnaires was higher than 0.75. Statistical population consisted of 95 librarians, 32 superiors, 95 colleagues and 95 users and census method was used. Each librarian was assessed by one supervisor, all colleagues, one user and a self-assessment questionnaire was filled by each librarian. This research used SPSS 22 and PLS and the Kolmogorov-Smirnov and ANOVA test were used for data analysis. Librarians’ performance in total (4.35) and status of their performance in moral - value skills (4.44), functional skills (4.32) and process skills (4.33) were higher than average level. There was no significant difference between the results of four groups in the moral - value index (0.097) but there was a significant difference between the results of four groups in functional skills, process skills, and the total assessment of librarian’s level was lower than 0.05. Comparison of librarians’ performance scores in each library showed the significant level for 3 indexes and the total score of performance evaluation were lower than 0.05 that showed significant difference was observed in these indexes among the 32 libraries. Employees and staff assessment are the main factors in the growth of an organization. Evaluation
