Abstract

Introduction:The purpose of this study is to examine the relationship between artificial intelligence (AI) and the performance of medical librarians, focusing on the mediating role of knowledge sharing among managers, administrative staff, and heads of medical science libraries affiliated with the Ministry of Health and Medical Education in Tehran.
Methodology:This research is descriptive and survey-based, and in terms of its objective, it is applied. The statistical population includes managers, administrative staff, and heads of medical science libraries affiliated with the Ministry of Health and Medical Education in Tehran. Due to the limited size of the population, a census method was used, involving all 176 individuals. To measure artificial intelligence, the study utilized the 22-item questionnaire developed by Chen et al. (2022), covering a wide range of AI dimensions. Employee performance was assessed using the 12-item questionnaire by Stephen (2005), and knowledge sharing was measured with the 12-item questionnaire by Damaj et al. (2016). The reliability of these instruments was confirmed through Cronbach's alpha, and their validity was verified through convergent and discriminant validity. Data analysis was conducted using descriptive statistics such as frequency distribution and inferential statistics through structural equation modeling (SEM) with Smart PLS software.
Findings:The results indicated that artificial intelligence has a positive and significant impact on employee performance. Additionally, artificial intelligence positively influences knowledge sharing. Moreover, knowledge sharing has a positive and significant effect on employee performance.
Conclusion:The findings revealed that knowledge sharing fully mediates the relationship between artificial intelligence and employee performance.
