The aim of this study was to investigate the views of administrators and librarians of Allameh Tabataba'i University libraries on digital preservation in the cloud environment. The present study is applied in nature and with a descriptive-survey method in two stages. In the first stage, by reviewing the texts of a researcher-made questionnaire with five components: " This questionnaire was designed on a five-point Likert scale and its reliability was 0.852 using Cronbach's alpha. In the second stage, the collected data were analyzed based on descriptive statistics (mean, median, standard deviation and variance) and one-sample t-test. Friedman test was also used to rank the factor of "possible challenges and barriers".Findings showed that the majority of participants were moderately familiar with the concepts of digital protection in the cloud environment. Also, from the point of view of managers and librarians of Allameh Tabataba'i University libraries, "the state of data trust and security in cloud protection" and "the availability of technological infrastructure for cloud protection in the university" is at a desirable level (p <0.05). "The organizational situation of the university for protection in the cloud environment" is at a moderate and relatively desirable level and "Knowledge and awareness required in cloud protection in librarians" is at a relatively undesirable level (p-value >0.05).

The purpose of this study is to use ontologies in the information retrieval of digital collections with an emphasis on images. The present research is of applied type and has been done by library method and systematic review of resources with an analytical approach. Using this method, the sources were collected around the research axis and selected for a more detailed review, and finally, the sources were reviewed according to specific and systematic instructions. In this method, all research in the field of ontology and its effect on image retrieval has been reviewed. The research findings show that image retrieval techniques, considering the backgrounds, include: text-based image retrieval, content-based image retrieval, composite model image retrieval, and semantic (conceptual) retrieval that used related feedback schemes to improve performance as well as the accuracy of the image retrieval process. Most of the researched studies have emphasized the necessity of using ontologies in digital collections. Therefore, in the current situation, we are moving towards the Semantic Web in order to organize digital images that deal with various structural and linguistic problems such as ambiguities, doubts, and human metaphors for the machine, and the use of ontologies. It is very effective in improving accessibility and retrieval accuracy.

This study aims to analyze and evaluate the portals of Iran Public Libraries Foundation qualitatively based on the web quality evaluation methodology (WebQEM). This is an applied-descriptive survey. The statistical population included the portals of Iran Public Libraries Foundation in 2016. For this purpose, 32 portals were observed and ranked. The data was collected through the direct observation method based on the WebQEM quality evaluation model and ISO 9126-1 standard. According to the findings, “Usability”, as the main criterion, was assessed as average with a mean of 0.39. Whereas “Functionality” was reported to be inappropriate with a total mean of 0.27. Regarding “Reliability”, the total mean was reported above average (0.57). Finally, “Efficiency” was assessed as appropriate with a mean of 0.704. The WebQEM results indicated that the surveyed portals were ranked first, second, third, and fourth in Efficiency, Reliability (validity), Usability, and Functionality, respectively. In other words, the surveyed portals had more weaknesses in usability and functionality criteria. However, they were assessed as more satisfactory in efficiency and reliability with means exceeding 50%.

This study aims to conceptually analyze the Delos reference model and the 5S Framework and to identify key relations between the concepts and indicators of the model and the framework in the organization and evaluation of digital libraries. The research method is conceptual analysis of Delos reference model and 5S Framework in the organization and evaluation of digital libraries. The Delos reference model focuses on the identification of core concepts and relations that encompass a digital library, while the 5S Framework focuses on the concepts of information and knowledge organization. The six areas of Delos reference model include content, user, functionality, quality, policy, and architecture that explain the core concepts and relations of digital libraries in a transparent and structured manner and are used as a foundation for evaluation of digital libraries. However, the 5S Framework mostly focuses on explaining key concepts and information organization in digital libraries such as digital objects, metadata, sets, and services. The organization of the three separate systems (digital library, digital library system, and digital library management system) in the same framework has made the Delos reference model complicated. However, the 5S Framework simply depicts all activities and services of a digital library in five processes. The Delos reference model, compared with the 5S Framework, lacks a strong emphasis on the social aspects of digital libraries. The Delos reference model and the 5s Framework can assist digital library designers in organizing, designing and evaluating digital libraries for coordination of practices, solutions, and development and integration of digital library systems. The Delos model and the 5S Framework have common relationships with digital libraries in the areas such as streams, content, communities, and users.

Purpose: This study aims to identify the social media and their role in knowledge exchange between digital preservation experts based on the Honeycomb model for sharing scientific contents. Methodology: This was an analytical qualitative study that was conducted using the Delphi method through 15 open questions among 20 experts who were members of a professional digital preservation group with different cultural backgrounds including libraries, museums, and archives. Findings: The findings indicated that 25% of the experts used Facebook; 22% used LinkedIn; 20% used Foursquare ; 15% used WIKIs; 10% used YouTube; and 8% used Twitter, while no one (0%) was familiar with Research Gate, which is a social network dedicated to professionals. Hundred percent of experts used Facebook for regular information updates and efficiency enhancement, 90% used Facebook and YouTube for obtaining information, 90% used Facebook and LinkedIn for scheduling meetings and networking, and 100% of experts used LinkedIn and Facebook for knowledge exchange and sharing. Ninety percent of experts considered intellectual deviation on Facebook and YouTube as the disadvantages of social media in scientific research, while 10% regarded time waste and low efficiency in YouTube and Twitter as the disadvantage of social media. The advantages of being your own boss (time management, democracy) with 100% on Facebook, access to society with 90% on LinkedIn and Facebook, and data recovery with 90% on Facebook were reported by the experts. Of the 7 blocks of the Honeycomb model, sharing was 100% in Facebook and LinkedIn, presence was 90% in Foursquare, identity, communication, groups, and chats were 90% in Facebook and LinkedIn, and reputation was 90% in LinkedIn. Conclusion: Our results showed that key components of the Honeycomb model for social media can be used in knowledge exchange between experts through obtaining information, exchanging information, sharing knowledge, updating information, and meeting and networking practices in various fields of science. They can also be applied to understand the interactive needs and how these needs change over time. Social media form an essential part of daily professional communication in scientific research in Iran. Among the social media investigated in this study, Facebook and LinkedIn were most widely used in the 7 key components of the Honeycomb model.
