Abstract

Nowadays, organizational knowledge management is known as the essential and futuristic strategy in complex, dynamic environments. It is used to gain competitive advantage and maintain survival and improve individual and organizational performance as well as organizations to implement this management system to move towards the learner organization. Tehran،s  municipality has not been excepted from this matter and has been trying to implement this management system. An assessment of the organizational maturity before the implementation of the knowledge management system allows the organization to know how its knowledge management status is. Hence, this paper intended to evaluate the organizational maturity of Tehran،s municipality from this perspective. The survey method used in this research is applied research. Data collection tool was the standard questionnaire of Asian Productivity Organization. Cronbach's Alpha was used to determine the reliability of the questionnaire by SPSS software and the Alpha coefficient of 0.95 was calculated. Using  random sampling and the Cochran formula , 150 individuals, who were managers and experienced people in organization, were selected.Tehran,s municipality is ranked at second level with 99.51 out of 210 points in knowledge management maturity of Asian Productivity Organizations model. This means that after knowing the advantages of knowledge management on improving business processes and productivity, an gatheirng information about knowledge management advantages, Tehran,s municipality needs to be aware of their importance. Finally, solutions for improving and enhancing the organization in the field of knowledge management related to each of the selected model criteria are presented.
